Can you expedite a new Wyoming LLC?
No. Wyoming's expedited service excludes "filings that can be completed online," and the Secretary of State lists initial formations as an example. A domestic Wyoming LLC can be formed online, so its Articles of Organization are not eligible.
That is not a drawback. According to the Secretary of State's own guide to creating a Wyoming company, an online filing is active "as soon as the online filing process is completed." The copy, certificate and receipt are available to download after payment. No paid service is faster than that.
Paper filing is the slow route: documents are processed in the order they are received and take no longer than 15 business days. Paper only makes sense for a new LLC if you cannot pay online, where the state takes Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards.
Key fact: The only expedite fees Wyoming publishes are $700 and $1,400, in the fee schedule effective July 1, 2026, and they exclude new LLCs. The state's paper LLC instructions still say "Wyoming statutes do not allow for expedited filing at this time." Any page quoting a $50, $100 or $200 Wyoming expedite fee for a new LLC is out of date.
What does Wyoming expedited filing cost?
The Business Division fee schedule effective July 1, 2026 sets two tiers, charged per document and on top of the filing's normal statutory fee:

The fee buys priority examination, not approval. If the filing is rejected and not corrected, the expedite fee is not refunded.
Which filings can be expedited?
Expediting applies to documents filed under Title 17, Title 34 or Title 40 (chapters 1 and 2) of the Wyoming Statutes that cannot be filed online. The state excludes:
- Filings that can be completed online, including initial formations, annual reports and UCC/EFS filings
- Trademark applications and registrations
- Securities filings and any document that needs another agency's approval
- Any other document the Secretary of State's Office decides to exclude
For LLC owners, the filings where expediting can matter are the paper-only ones. The state requires paper for foreign qualifications, domestications and continuances — for example, an LLC formed in another state registering to do business in Wyoming (a $150 Certificate of Authority), or an existing company moving its home to Wyoming. If one of those is on a hard deadline, $700 may be worth it; otherwise the 15-business-day queue costs nothing.
How do you request expedited filing?
For a new Wyoming LLC, you don't: file online at wyobiz.wyo.gov instead. For an eligible paper filing, every request needs a completed, signed Expedited Filing Cover Form, submitted one of two ways:
- In personat the Secretary of State's office in Cheyenne, paying by cash, certified funds payable to the Wyoming Secretary of State, credit or debit card (where available, with government-issued ID), or a Prepaid Account Deposit (PAD) account.
- By emailto expedite@wyo.gov, paid only from a PAD account with sufficient funds. The subject line must read "Same Day Expedited Request" or "Next Day Expedited Request", followed by the business name and filing ID, or "New Filing" for an initial filing.
Check the cut-off before you send: a same-day request received after noon Mountain Time does not get same-day service.
What are formation services charging for?
Many formation services sell a "rush" or "expedited" Wyoming LLC for an extra fee. Since the state does not expedite new LLCs, that fee can only speed up the service's own work — how quickly it prepares and submits your filing. A service that files online has no state queue to skip.

What actually sets the pace after filing?
For most non-residents, the EIN — not the state filing. The IRS online EIN application requires an SSN or ITIN, so applicants without one fax Form SS-4, which typically takes 4-8 weeks. A US bank account and payment processor follow the EIN.

What delays a Wyoming LLC filing?
Speed rarely fails at the state. It fails on details that force you to file again:
